Play Sevens with the rules at hand

A careful first move helps you understand the round. Play every card to four suit sequences that expand outward from their sevens. Keep the goal in mind before your next move. A standard deck is dealt to four players, thirteen cards each. Try the rule on the board, then read the next instruction.

Four-player free Sevens with three local computer opponents. This table uses the seven-of-diamonds opening and low Aces.

Build familiarity through play

Read the position before choosing your next action. Extend the low end or high end of an open suit by one rank. Aces are low below twos; kings are the high end. Start a new round when you are ready to try again.

Your objective

The example and rules describe the same game you can play above. Play every card to four suit sequences that expand outward from their sevens. Keep the goal in mind before your next move.

Making your moves

  1. A standard deck is dealt to four players, thirteen cards each.
  2. The holder of 7♦ must play it first. Other suits can open with their own seven.
  3. Extend the low end or high end of an open suit by one rank. Aces are low below twos; kings are the high end.
  4. Play a legal card whenever possible. Passing is allowed only when no card fits.
  5. The first player with an empty hand wins the round.

How your actions work

The board gives you the information needed for the next action. Tap an enabled card from your hand. The suit rows show cards already played. Use Pass only when it is enabled. Start a new round when you are ready to try again.

Put the rules into context

Use the controls beside the game rather than guessing the rules. After 7♥ is opened, 6♥ or 8♥ can be played. 5♥ must wait until 6♥ is on the table. Keep the goal in mind before your next move.

A common point of confusion

Take a moment to check the current turn. A matching rank in another suit does not extend an existing row. Every suit has its own sequence. Try the rule on the board, then read the next instruction.
